Mindfulness has become mainstream but what does it really mean to live mindfully?

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to this very moment on purpose. When we slow down and notice how our mind habitually works, we are likely to discover that we often “live” more in the past or in the future. Thus, we miss living fully in the present.

Coming to Your Senses

We can cultivate living mindfully by practicing paying attention to the present moment on purpose, without adding judgment to whatever arises. As we practice formally, such as sitting in meditation, the practice spills into our day to day living. We start noticing and appreciating the beauty and goodness in our life and we develop a greater capacity to handle the difficulties that are an inevitable part of being human.
